CoventorWare 11.0

Description

CoventorWare 11.0

What’s New in CoventorWare 11.0
Infrastructure
l CoventorWare's interface has been updated with a new look and feel. (MR-2019)
l In previous releases, if the TEMP variable file path contained a tilde (~), CoventorWare
failed to start. This tilde appears in the file path because the Windows 10 file path
notation convention dictates that folder names that are longer than eight characters are

shortened by inserting a tilde. With the CoventorWare 11.0 release, this issue is addressed
with the COV_CW_TEMP environment variable, which is created when Coventor
MP 2.0
is installed. It points to a directory underneath the installation directory, which might not
be writable for the end user. The user can change the path to another location, but must be
aware of the folder name length restrictions. (CB-24623)
MEMS+ Imported Models
Details of an imported MEMS+ model are now reported in the CoventorWare Console. When
the imported
MEMS+ model is selected in the Models tree, the List View tab will report that it
is an exported
MEMS+ model and will report the process, layout, and material database that
were used to build it in
MEMS+. (MR-1573)
Visualizer
CoventorWare uses Tecplot 360 as its 3-D visualizer. In CoventorWare 11.0, the visualizer has
been updated to Tecplot 360 2020. Please review the visualizer reference topics (Visualizer
Reference) and the appropriate Coventor
MP and CoventorWare tutorials for updates on how the
visualizer has changed. (MR-2024)
Scripting
Users can now retrieve numerical data from an existing analysis. The scripting interface
includes the
getNumericalTable command for retrieving numerical results, and the
writeToFile command for writing that data to a text file.
